"Travelers' Rest"
Lewis and Clark stopped here to rest in the fall of 1805 before crossing
the Bitteroot Mountains. They named this creek Travelers' Rest creek and
followed it into the Bitteroot Mountains. The creek has since been
renamed Lolo Creek and flows into the Bitteroot river near the Town of Lolo
Montana.
