If you have never experienced first light on the Grand Tetons, go there, set your alarm clock, and watch the sunlight hit the Grand. I like vivid color in my photographs. So here is the secret to getting great color in pictures. Photograph colorful subjects when the light is great. I found this field of lupine during a June trip to the Tetons. I knew it would make a great foreground for my photograph. I went there every morning for three days. On the first two days the sky was totaly clear. I was hoping for some clouds that could catch the morning light. On the third day, I got what I wanted. A storm was moving in, giving me some moody clouds that briefly caught the pinkish light at dawn.
